Terms of Service

1. Acceptance & Eligibility

By creating an account, accessing, or using our directory (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into binding contracts.

2. The Service — What LI ToolBox Is and Isn't

LI ToolBox operates an online directory that connects homeowners ("Homeowners") seeking home services with independent service providers ("Pros"). We are not a party to any agreement between Homeowners and Pros. We do not employ, supervise, license, bond, or insure any Pro listed on the Service.

3. Account Registration

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep it updated. You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for any activity under your account.

4. Homeowner Terms

Homeowner accounts are free. You may search for Pros, submit service requests, send messages, and leave reviews of Pros you have actually engaged. You agree not to use the Service to solicit personal relationships or send unsolicited commercial messages.

5. Pro (Contractor) Terms

Pros must hold all licenses, permits, insurance, and bonds required for their trade. You represent that all credentials on your profile are truthful and current, and that you are an independent contractor, not an employee or agent of LI ToolBox.

6. Subscriptions, Billing & Refunds

Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis. You may cancel at any time from your dashboard. Your listing remains public for a 30-day grace period after cancellation. Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by law.

7. Verification, Licensing & Insurance Representations

The "Verified Pro" badge indicates that a Pro has submitted documentation to us and we have reviewed it for obvious issues. It is not an independent validation of licensing status, insurance coverage, or workmanship. Homeowners are encouraged to independently verify a Pro's credentials before hiring.

8. Reviews & User Content

You retain ownership of content you post but grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with the Service. Reviews must reflect genuine firsthand experiences. We may remove fraudulent, defamatory, or otherwise harmful content.

9. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to post false or infringing content, harass other users, scrape data by automated means, circumvent security, send unsolicited messages, impersonate others, or violate applicable law.

10. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, logos, software, and trademarks, is owned by LI ToolBox or its licensors. Except as expressly permitted, you may not copy, modify, or distribute it.

11. DMCA Copyright Policy

If you believe content infringes your copyright, please submit a notice via our DMCA form. Submissions must comply with 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3).

12. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) $100.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LI ToolBox from any claim arising from your use of the Service, your content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.

15. Dispute Resolution & Arbitration

Any dispute shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, in Suffolk County, New York. You waive the right to participate in a class action.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Any court action shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Suffolk County, New York.

17. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for any violation of these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (IP, disclaimers, liability caps, indemnification, arbitration, governing law) shall survive termination.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. When we make material changes, we will update the version and may require you to re-accept before continuing to use the Service.
